Diffraction and Interference is a optical phenomenon which is present almost everywhere but hard to see with your eyes at nano/micro level. When light passes through a series of very narrow slit/grating it diffract and interfere together and that what we see in this picture.
In Optics, periodic revivals of field patterns called Talbolt effect. It also referred to as self-imaging or lensless imaging, is of the phenomena manifested by a periodic repetition of planar field distributions in certain types of wave fields.
This image was taken through a phone camera when light passes through a two different periodic grating.
